Stephanie was born and raised in Montana, but set roots down in the CSRA after the United States Marine Corps transferred her husband to Fort Gordon in 2013. She joined our team in May of 2018, but has over 12 years of experience in the veterinary field. Outside of Hill Top Animal Hospital, she can be found spending time with her family, horse, greyhound, or trio of Chihuahuas.

Hi there! I’m Morticia, but everyone calls me Tish, or Kitten.. It doesn’t really matter cause I only really respond to treats! I found my furrever home with the clinic in 2020 when I came in from the shelter with an injured tail. The doctors at Hill Top decided that the tail had to go, but they fell in love and I got to stay. I think it was a good deal. I enjoy zooming around the clinic, causing chaos and spending my free time cuddling up with Dr. Hondrum at her desk, she gives the best pets! This is really the most fun place to be but don’t expect to see me roaming around the client areas, cause I’m perfectly fine hiding out in the back!

Hello and welcome to my clinic. My name is Gracie and I am the resident Queen and have been since 2015. I am a kind ruler, though, I allow my staff to give me pets regularly and will occasionally give them kisses. I’m not sure what more you could ask for. You can often find me wandering around my palace grounds, checking out patient rooms and the front desk to make sure they are well kept. Maybe on your next visit you’ll find me basking in the window or on the front desk and I might just allow you to give me a pet as well.
Hi I’m Shara! I am originally from California but the Navy brought our family to the CSRA in 2013. I have been working at Hill Top since October 2020 and am currently working on my veterinary technician degree with the goal of becoming a licensed veterinary technician (LVT). I love spending time with my husband, our two children and our two dogs Pearl and Penny (aka: the beagle monsters)! We enjoy movie nights, games, and reading, as well as outdoor activities like hiking, boating, camping, and riding motorcycles.
Hi, I’m Amy! I’ve been working in the veterinary field since I was 16. When I was in my 20’s I took a break to explore different career fields but was always drawn back to working with animals. So, at the beginning of 2020, I started at Hill Top. Originally I was working with the wonderful dogs and cats back in boarding. After boarding ended, I moved up to the front of the clinic and now have the pleasure of helping our amazing RVT with the patients that come in for surgery. It is such a great experience and I am happy to be helping your pets have a safe and comfortable time while here. When I’m not here I enjoy spending time with my two sons, my cats and dog!
Hi I’m Nannette, I developed a love for animals at a very young age while growing up along the southeast coast of Florida, and actually began working for a Veterinarian when I was just 14 years old. My love for animals of all kinds grew only stronger over the years, and it continues to this day. My husband’s career eventually brought us to Evans Georgia and we fell in love with the area and the people here. We have three grown children and three grandchildren and currently are owned by one cat named Holly. We enjoy camping in the mountains of North Georgia and when we can sunsets on the west coast of Florida.
Hi! I’m Bailey Gray, I’m an Augusta local who has a passion for furry friends. My dream is to be a veterinarian and I’m chasing that dream daily! Working as an assistant at Hill Top has brought me so much joy and knowledge, that I can’t wait to further in the fall when I leave for vet school at the University of Georgia. My loving family, friends, and furr babies, Jack and Marley, are my constant support system. When not working or learning I enjoy good food, hiking, and binging Netflix shows.
Hey there, my name is Rebecca but my friends call me Becca. My passion for animals started young. From the time I can remember to now, I have always had a house full of pets. Ranging from farm animals to household fur babies. My journey in this field started by working with a rescue group. I knew then, that I wanted to help animals in every way possible. I have furthered my knowledge and love for animals so much since then and love working as a vet assistant. My loving husband, Chris and I have a total of 5 pets and our family is growing as we are expecting our first born.
Hey all! I’m originally from Idaho and Wyoming but moved to Georgia a few years ago for a bit of a change in scenery. I can say that I’m definitely loving the sunny weather. I currently share a home with my loving boyfriend, our two dogs (Minnow, an Aussie, and Mochi, a poodle mix) and our crazy cat, Gater! Aussies definitely have to be one of my favorite breeds, and I love when I get to snuggle them on their visits! I started at Hill Top as a kennel technician shortly after moving to GA and then, last year, moved over to helping out the vet technicians in the clinic area. It’s all been a whirlwind but I’m super happy to be here and be able to learn about and care for all the wonderful pawtients that visit us!

Hey, I am Anja Smith. I am currently the kennel manager at Hill Top Animal Hospital. I have been working with dog and cats for approximately 30 years now. I have previous experience being an animal behaviorist and trainer in Germany where I was born and raised. My family and I are military and moved to the States a few years ago. I have three sons and a loving husband. I currently have a one and a half year old Rottweiler named Deebo. Deebo has made my heart full again after having all my children grow up and go on to start their own lives as young adults. I love my job and getting to care for each and every clients’ pets as if they were my own. The relationships I have created with our clients and their pets will be something I hold close to my heart for forever. Nothing makes me feel better than knowing that owners feel safe and trusting in me when I care for their pets. My favorite animals are dogs and horses.
Hi, my name is Dawn Williams and I have 34 animals. My oldest is my service dog Keylala. She is a 12 year old Afghan Hound and my best friend. I also have a young Golden Retriever named Crowley. I have 4 cats, a ferret, a turtle, a bearded dragon and 26 snakes of different species. My favorite animal is a hidden gentle giant, the Reticulated Python. I have been working with Dr. Ian Scholer since before he became the owner of Hill Top Animal Hospital, so approximately 5 years now and have loved being able to learn from him. I love my job because each day I get to help take care of clients and their loved ones and nothing is more rewarding than helping a family stay happy and healthy.
Hey! My name is Kayla Holt. I started working at Hill Top Animal Hospital in December of 2017. I couldn’t have asked for a better first job. I am a graduate of Thomson High School and am currently enrolled at Augusta University. I love working with animals and learning something new each day. Working at Hill Top has taught me more than I thought a job could ever teach me. Hill Top has also brought me my two biggest blessings, my two rescue pups, Mollie (Mini Aussie) and Zuri (a Great Pyrenees lab mix). I cannot wait to see what else is in store for me here at Hill Top.

Dr. Greene has lived in Augusta since she was a little girl. She is an alumnus of Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, the University of Georgia College of Agriculture, and the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
During her undergraduate studies at UGA, she met her future husband, Travis Greene. In true fairy tale form, it turned out that Travis was from the same hometown, but they had to travel to Athens, GA to finally meet (which isn’t all that surprising seeing that so many great things have started in Athens). After she graduated from UGA Vet School in 2012, they returned to Augusta where Dr. Greene began practicing veterinary medicine and Travis studied physical therapy at the Medical College of Georgia. They have a sweet little girl (Ella), three dogs (Marley, Abbie, and Bailey), and a cat who thinks he is a dog (Oliver).

Dr. Scholer was raised in Augusta (but he usually leaves out the fact that he was actually born in Rochester, NY while his father completed his post-doctoral studies in Endocrinology). He is an alumnus of Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, the University of Georgia College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, and the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduation from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine, he stayed on at UGA and completed a rotating internship in Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Emergency and Critical Care before accepting a job at a busy veterinary practice in the Atlanta area. While he was there, he met and fell head over heels for Megan, a high school teacher who was way out of his league. Eventually his persistence paid off and she agreed to marry him. They moved to the CSRA in 2010 and have both worked in the area since then. Together, they have three sons (Jax, Mick, Charlie) and one fiercely independent daughter (Ava), two mutts (Bear and Abby) and a moderately tolerant clowder of cats (Richard Parker, Beatrix Kiddo, Harry, Brownie and Hungry). Dr. Scholer’s professional interests include Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Endocrinology. When he’s not at Hill Top, he enjoys dining out with his family, grilling at home, and exercising (mainly to counteract the first two hobbies). He prefers Coca Cola over Pepsi, Xbox over Playstation, and The Beatles over Elvis.
